Commander's Corner

Brothers and sisters
June and July have been busy months, Dept. of California VFW conference Riverside, National VFW conference in St Louis, and the start of vacations. I am reaching out to you to drop by the post. The inside and outside of the post have changed.
Please support the weekly lunches, Thursday tacos, and our Friday night dinners. If you have an hour or two to reconnect with other post members, or are looking for opportunities to be active in our Post come in. Sept. and Oct. offer a number of activities sponsored by our post, so please plan to come by share stories, relax, and have a great time. Wednesday night we have a dart tournament, Saturday after the General meeting a Texas holdem tournament, and Ships captain and crew on Sunday. Please bring all suggestions for any fund raisers to your Post Officers; to succeed we need the help of all our members. Copies of the post calendar will be at the canteen throughout the month. Have a great day!!

House Committee's Corner

VFW Post 2266 House CommitteeFirst and foremost, I would like to say a great huge THANK YOU!!!  To Sharon Spellman from our Ladies Aux, and her husband Ron for repainting and restoring the Ladies restroom.  It looks amazing and really needed that facelift.  I would also like to thank Gary Quackenbush for all that he does at the post.  He is a tremendous help whenever asked to do anything.
To all PHC members I send you all my sincere thanks for your help and guidance in the continuing efforts to the beautification of our post.  As we all know, we have an old building and it needs a lot of work to keep it up.
As your PHC, we are doing our best to get these things done and bring money into the post as well.  You will start to see more changes coming about very soon.  If you have any time that you would like to donate to the PHC, we can always use an extra hand, as there are only 4 of us and any assistance is grateful and appreciated.

Thanks again to all my comrades.
Pauline M. Costa

Why We're Here

VFW Post 2266 brings a lot of help and opportunity to our veterans. We also have things to offer to our community, such as fundraising for local school sports teams and programs like J.R.O.T.C. VFW Harbour-Record Post 2266 holds regular Veteran Events as well as Civilian Events that can be scheduled in advance. Our VFW Post also has an in-house canteen to provide refreshments for those events. For our veterans we can offer services such as assistance with V.A. disability claims and even liaison with other agencies to get Veterans in need the help they require and deserve. Members enjoy lively weekends at VFW Post 2266 with either live music or karaoke on Friday's. We enjoy broadcasting sporting events on our big screen TV as well as the flat screen in the canteen. Our VFW Auxiliaries do a wonderful job preparing meals on a daily basis at a nominal price. There are games to be played at VFW Post 2266 such as regular dart tournaments but also areas to be enjoyed as a family such as our children's playground. VFW Harbour-Record Post 2266 tries to make sure there is something here for everyone and we hope you will come down to see for your self.

We have links in our navigation menu that will take you to many aspects of our VFW Post. Links to Veteran Administration sites as well as other departments in the V.F.W. and Veteran Organizations can be found at the bottom of the pages. You can also download things like our monthly published newsletter the Bugler, our monthly Calendar or even our R.V. Lot Rental Contract. We hope to see you at our Post soon...
