Membership, membership, membership. If you are an annual member take time to look at the board. If your name is on it it's because you owe your 2014/2015 dues. Dec 31st is rapidly approaching and your renewals are needed. Have you considered becoming a "Life" member; this saves money in the long run. There is also a Payment Plan. The VFW Life Membership installment plan allows any VFW member/applicant to purchase a Life Membership by making either installment after an initial payment of $45. The member will be issued an annual membership card and can elect, upon receipt of the first monthly invoice, to pay via check, credit card or ACH Debit. The applicable Life Membership fee is to be determined from the schedule using the applicant's age on Dec. 31 of the installment plan year in which the application is submitted, regardless of actual date of birth. A permanent Life Membership card will be issued upon completion of this agreement.

House Committee's Corner

VFW Post 2266 House CommitteeIt would appear that we might have a wet winter after all. We had volunteers to help obtain and fill 128 sandbags, and set them in place at the Post. We hope this will help to keep the overflow from the hall. Our next project is to re-do the wall space in the Canteen. We are going to move the plaques and certificates to the back wall in the rear hall. It will look more impressive that way and add character to the hall. In the Canteen the walls will have different eras represented, WWII, Korea, etc. The game room will be devoted to Desert Storm, OIF and OEF. That is where the new Xbox is located and it should provide great entertainment for the younger veterans. Please remember that while we have a PHC we still need volunteers to help as those that came out to fill sandbags. Each of us must always remember, “this is my Post.”

Thanks again comrades.

Why We're Here

VFW Post 2266 brings a lot of help and opportunity to our veterans. We also have things to offer to our community, such as fundraising for local school sports teams and programs like J.R.O.T.C. VFW Harbour-Record Post 2266 holds regular Veteran Events as well as Civilian Events that can be scheduled in advance. Our VFW Post also has an in-house canteen to provide refreshments for those events. For our veterans we can offer services such as assistance with V.A. disability claims and even liaison with other agencies to get Veterans in need the help they require and deserve. Members enjoy lively weekends at VFW Post 2266 with either live music or karaoke on Friday's. We enjoy broadcasting sporting events on our big screen TV as well as the flat screen in the canteen. Our VFW Auxiliaries do a wonderful job preparing meals on a daily basis at a nominal price. There are games to be played at VFW Post 2266 such as regular dart tournaments but also areas to be enjoyed as a family such as our children's playground. VFW Harbour-Record Post 2266 tries to make sure there is something here for everyone and we hope you will come down to see for your self.

We have links in our navigation menu that will take you to many aspects of our VFW Post. Links to Veteran Administration sites as well as other departments in the V.F.W. and Veteran Organizations can be found at the bottom of the pages. You can also download things like our monthly published newsletter the Bugler, our monthly Calendar or even our R.V. Lot Rental Contract. We hope to see you at our Post soon...
